The Wareham Police Traffic Enforcement Unit is part of the Uniformed Patrol Division and is comprised of a Traffic Safety Officer, two Traffic Enforcement Officers, two Accident Reconstruction Officers. The unit utilizes two specialized traffic cruisers, a speed monitoring trailer, and other specialized equipment related to traffic safety and enforcement initiatives.

The goals of the Traffic Unit is to make the community safer by enforcing the motor vehicle traffic laws of the Commonwealth,  to reduce the number and severity of accidents throughout the town, and to educate the public with regard to traffic and safety issues.

Officers assigned to the Traffic Unit have participated in a variety of specialized training sessions in order to perform their duties in the highest standards. Specialized training areas include radar operation, accident investigation, accident reconstruction, child car seat installation, and various other safety and enforcement related areas.
