This is a message from the Wareham Police Department. The Wareham Police Dept. and Emergency services is initiating a voluntary evacuation. It is Recommended that all residents in low lying areas move to higher and safer ground. There is a shelter located at 48 Marion Rd. the Multi Service center next to the town hall.
Due to power outage any traffic lights out should be treated as a stop sign.

The Wareham storm shelter, located at #48 Marion Road, became operational at 8:00 am this morning. All Wareham residents, especially those who reside in low lying, flood prone areas, are advised that shelter is now available. There have been no evacuation orders issued or suggested at this time.
