On Thursday, October 3, 2013 at approximately 2:00 pm, members of the Wareham Police Department Detective Division, assisted by officers of the Patrol Division, executed a search warrant at Cape Cod Auto, located #252 Onset Avenue in the Onset section of town. The search warrant was obtained as a result of an investigation of the sale and possession of illegal narcotics, namely, heroin, at the business. The owner of Cape Cod Auto, 51 year old Christopher Dudley of Plympton, MA, was present at the time of the search warrant execution.
During the search of the premises with the assistance of a Bourne PD narcotics detection trained K-9 unit, approximately 10 grams of suspected heroin, digital scales, baking soda, and plastic baggies were located in the main office of the business.
Christopher Dudley was placed under arrest at the scene, charged with Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute (heroin) and Violating Drug Laws Within 1,000 feet of a School/Playground. It should be noted that Cape Cod Auto is located adjacent to Lopes Playground on Onset Avenue, and is within 1,000 feet of the Hammond School and playground area.
Christopher Dudley will be arraigned at the Wareham 4th District Court on Friday, October 4, 2013.
