On Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at approximately 9:30 am, officers and detectives of the Wareham Police Department responded to the Eastern Bank on Main Street regarding a reported bank robbery. A bank employee reported that a white male, approximately 5’9” tall, weighing approximately 180 lbs., with dark brown facial hair, wearing dark clothing and sunglasses entered the bank and passed a note to a teller, indicating that he possessed a weapon and to hand over money. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash, the male left the building in an unknown direction. A weapon was not shown, and no bank employees were injured during the incident. Officers searched the Main Street area with negative results for the suspect.
