National Night Out August 07, 2012

Posted on August 2, 2012

On Tuesday, August 7, 2012, the Wareham Police Department and Target will team up to present the third annual National Night Out, which will begin with a parade of public safety vehicles from the Onset Pier to Lopes Field at 6:00 pm. There will be free food, drinks, and fun activities for children of all ages at Lopes Field until 9:00 pm. Music will be provided throughout the night by Stephen Lombard of Starlight DJ’s.

National Night Out is a nationwide celebration to promote neighborhood spirit and public safety community partnerships in the fight for a safer nation. Last year, over 15,000 communities from all 50 states presented National Night Out events, with participation of over 37,000,000 people. The Wareham Police Department is proud to continue partnerships with public safety organizations, businesses, and volunteers to present our highly anticipated version of National Night Out. Planned events include:

* WPD K-9 Demonstration

* Child ID / Fingerprinting

* Emergency Vehicle Exhibit

* Waterslide and Moonwalk

* Face Painting

* Special guest, Smokey the Bear

* Wareham Police Quad Ride

* Special exhibition by the Onset Fire Department

Please join us for National Night Out and celebrate community partnerships that continue to promote safety and prevent the spread of crime and illegal drug activity throughout Wareham.
