Hurricane Preparedness Forum to be held at Wareham High School

Emergency Management Director, Chief Richard Stanley would like to announce that a Hurricane Preparedness Forum will be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Wareham High School. 

This forum will consist of Meteorologist Bob Thompson from the National Weather

Service, who will discuss the particular vulnerability of Wareham with regard to a hurricane, representatives from Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and other emergency response groups, will be on hand to answer questions regarding their respective roles in times of disaster.

Board of Selectmen Chairman Steve Holmes will welcome residents and interested parties to the forum. Representatives from Town of Wareham departments, including Municipal Maintenance, Water Pollution Control, Board of Health, Harbormaster, and Emergency Medical Services, as well as representatives from the Wareham Fire Department, Onset Fire Department, and the Wareham Police Department will be available to discuss their key roles leading up to, during, and after a hurricane situation.

Many emergency response vehicles will also be on display at the event.

Chief Stanley encourages and welcomes all residents to attend this important and informative forum.
