Posted on June 29, 2012

The Wareham Police Department reports that since June 19, 2012, the Detective Division has been conducting aggressive law enforcement initiatives throughout Wareham in an effort to arrest drug violators and people with outstanding warrants in an effort to make Wareham safer and improve quality of life issues for all residents and visitors to our town.

During this enforcement initiative, Detectives arrested 22 people on outstanding arrest warrants with charges ranging from failure to pay fines and committing probation violations, to those involving incidents of larceny, assaults, and various types of robberies. Three subjects were also arrested and charged with various drug violations during a motor vehicle stop and investigation by detectives that was initiated by the Patrol Division. During the time of this enforcement, detectives also executed a search warrant for illegal drugs at the Brandy Hill Apartment complex, at which time two adult males were arrested and charged with the distribution and possession of cocaine. Another incident involved the arrests of two males, who were charged with the possession of heroin and cocaine in the Shangri-la section of Wareham on June 26, 2012.

Chief Richard Stanley praised the aggressive actions of the Detective Division and their efforts during a successful operation that led to the arrests of 29 criminals in Wareham since June 19, 2012. Chief Stanley assures the citizens of Wareham that aggressive action by the Wareham Police Department to rid the streets of Wareham from criminal activity will continue.
