Wareham Fugitive Wanted for Attemtped Murder Arrested in Raleigh, North Carolina

Posted on March 12, 2012

On Friday, March 9, 2012, at approximately 9:15 pm, members of the Raleigh, North Carolina Police Department placed Frank Vallagran, a wanted fugitive from Wareham, under arrest, due to an outstanding warrant for Attempted Murder, which stemmed from an incident in Wareham, MA on March 6, 2012, when he stabbed a woman during a domestic argument at the 815 Main St. Apartment Complex.

A warrant had been issued for Mr. Vallagran by the Wareham District Court after he had been identified as the person who stabbed a 32-year-old female at the apartment complex and fled from the scene, leading the Wareham Police Department and the Mass. State Police on a vehicle pursuit to New Bedford, MA, where he fled from the vehicle on foot and could not be located. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Frank Vallagran of #227 Sackett St. Providence RI, for Attempted Murder, A&B Dangerous Weapon, and several motor vehicle charges. The victim, who was stabbed in the abdomen, was released from a Boston hospital later the next day.

An extensive joint investigation between detectives of the Wareham Police Department and the Rhode Island State Police Fugitive Task Force revealed that Mr. Vallagran was enroute to Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday, March 9, 2012 via Amtrack. At approximately 9:15 pm on that date, Mr. Vallagran was placed into custody without incident in Raleigh, North Carolina, as he exited the Amtrack train. Arrangements are being made to have Mr. Vallagran extradited to Massachusetts.

Chief Richard Stanley commended the investigative skills of the Wareham Police Department Detective Division and the Rhode Island Fugitive Task Force, who worked cooperatively to effect the arrest of a violent fugitive within days of the incident.
