On Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at approximately 5:00 pm, officers of the Wareham Police Department responded to a residence on Restful Lane regarding a reported break and entering incident in progress. The resident of the address reported that she arrived home to find an unknown vehicle occupied by an unknown female, parked in front of the house. Upon noticing the resident, the unknown female, later identified as 21 year old Catherine McAlpine of Sandwich, MA, honked the horn and quickly left the area. As the vehicle was leaving the area, a male ran out of the residence carrying a bag containing several unknown items.
After receiving preliminary information, officers conducted an area search for the suspects and the vehicle. Within minutes, the vehicle, occupied by Ms. McAlpine, was located within a short distance from the victim’s home. During the investigation of the female’s involvement in the incident, a male identified as 21-year-old Daniel Beal of Canton, MA, was noticed to be walking in the area. Continued investigation with regard to Mr. Beal’s involvement of the incident revealed that he had left the bag that he was carrying in a nearby playground.
