Attempted Armed Robbery Pepin’s Liquor Store 2259 Cranberry Hwy. Wareham (1/14/2012 8:30pm )

On Saturday, January 14, 2012 at approximately 8:30 pm, officers of the Wareham Police Department responded to Pepin’s Liquors on Rte. 28, regarding a possible attempted armed robbery incident at the store.  The store clerk reported that a lone male entered the store, carrying a plastic bag and a hammer, while wearing a hooded sweat top. The male approached the clerk, who immediately notified this department, as the male fled from the store, leaving the parking lot in a small sedan type vehicle. There was no money or merchandise removed from the store.

The suspect involved in this incident was described as a white male, approximately 5’10” to 6’0” tall, wearing a dark colored “hoodie” or zip type work jacket, dark colored pants, and brown boots. The suspect also appears to have brown hair and a slight beard. A picture of the suspect from the video surveillance tape has been attached to this release.
