Westfield Woman Arrested for Shoplifting and 9 Warrants

On Wednesday, June 21st at approximately 8:30 pm, WPD officers responded to the Family Dollar store in the Wareham Plaza regarding a reported female shoplifter who left the store and was possibly still in the area after stealing approximately $70 worth of merchandise, which she reportedly stuffed into a backpack.

Within a short period of time, officers located 55 year old Westfield, MA resident Jayne Decoste in the plaza, and the stolen items were recovered from her backpack.

In addition to the charge of Shoplifting from Family Dollar on this date, Ms. Decoste was also placed under arrest for 9 outstanding warrants issued by various courts for unrelated past shoplifting incidents. Warrants had been issued by Massachusetts district courts in Holyoke, Brookline, Springfield, Westfield, Quincy, and Hingham.

Ms. Decoste is scheduled to be arraigned on the charge of Shoplifting, 10th subsequent offense, this morning at Wareham District Court.
