Wareham Youth charged with Terroristic Threats

On Monday, May 1, 2017, Wareham PD School Resource Officer Karl Baptiste was notified by Wareham High School administrative staff that it was brought to their attention that a juvenile aged male student had taken a picture of himself and added the caption, “Anyone down for a school shooting?” then posted the image to Snap-Chat.

The juvenile, who was very cooperative and denied any intention of being involved in a planned school shooting incident, was placed under arrest at Wareham High School without any disruption to school activities and transported to the Wareham Police Department.

The juvenile was charged with Terroristic Threats, MGL 269-14B, and was transported to Wareham District Court for arraignment.

Chief Kevin Walsh praised the immediate and efficient actions of school administrators and the School Resource Officer in handling this matter, which is considered an ongoing investigation.
