Two males arrested

This morning at approximately 11:30 am, Wareham Police Department officers and detectives, along with Wareham EMS personnel, responded to the area of #12 Penekese St. regarding a disturbance involving a group of males and a knife. Upon arrival, officers noticed an adult male in the street who sustained what appeared to be at least one stab wound in his back.

Also in the immediate area were two adult males who investigators later determined committed the crime during an argument with the victim. The males were placed into custody and transported to WPD for booking and further investigative purposes.

The victim, a 38 year old Wareham resident, was transported by EMS personnel to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of his injury, which appears non-life-threatening at this time.

Names of the involved participants and further information regarding the incident will be withheld at this time, due to ongoing investigation of the incident.

An update to this press release will be provided at a later time.

The two males arrested at the scene were 21 year old Robert Gill and his 19 year old brother, Michael Gill, both of whom list their residence as #12 Penikese Street in West Wareham. Both have been charged with Assault With Intent to Murder and Assault & Battery With a Dangerous Weapon as a result of the incident involving a third adult male, who was stabbed during the incident and is currently being treated at Rhode Island Hospital.
