135, section 7, and Chapter 134, section 1 The
property contained in the list(s) below has been found, recovered, or abandoned
and now is in the possession of or reported to the police department. All
persons who believe they may have an interest in any item listed should contact
Detective Wayne Sylvester, custodian of property, at 508-295-1206 x238, to
determine if they have a claim to the property. Pursuant
to law, unclaimed property in the possession of the police department may be
sold at public auction. Unclaimed money in the possession of the police
department will be deposited in to the Town of Wareham's general fund. Private

year after finding the property if they make a timely report to the police. In
addition to the listed items, the police department has in its possession
numerous items of no commercial value (such as eyeglasses and keys) that it
holds as a courtesy for return to their owners. If unclaimed, such property is
disposed of without auction or further notice. Notice
pursuant to M.G.L. Ch. 135, s. 8. POLICE AUCTIONWareham
Police Department The
police department will sell unclaimed bicycles starting January 1, 2008 by means of
an auction conducted online at the website www.ebay.com.
See website for rules. The
police department will be selling unclaimed property by means of web auction
because the expense of conducting a traditional auction is high and the prices
paid for property are lower than is anticipated from a web auction. If
anyone should believe that an item up for auction belongs to him or her, please
contact Detective Wayne Sylvester custodian of property, at 508-295-1206 x238. The
police department will sell at auction unclaimed property including bicycles,
telephones, stereos, cameras, watches, jewelry, clothing, and personal articles.
The items to be auctioned are “AS IS” condition and are in no way
guaranteed or under warrantee by the Wareham Police Department.
