Plymouth Man In Critical Condition After Pedestrian Accident

On Monday, July 28, 2014 at approximately 10:30 pm, officers of the Wareham Police Department were dispatched to the Buttermilk Bay Inn, located at #3224 Cranberry Hwy., for the report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance at the business. While enroute to the reported disturbance, officers were advised the involved male had been struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the Cranberry Hwy. in the direct vicinity of the Buttermilk Bay Inn.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers noticed an adult male lying in the roadway with extensive injuries sustained by being struck by a passing motor vehicle. The male apparently attempted to cross the highway after being involved at the reported disturbance at the Buttermilk Bay Inn. The vehicle operator, 27 year old Michael McKenna Jr. of Sagamore Beach, MA, was also present and cooperative at the scene.
The injured male, who will not be identified at this time pending notification of family members, was transported to Tobey Hospital by Wareham EMS, then transported via Med-Flight to Rhode Island Hospital. The male is currently reported to be in critical condition.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Wareham Police Department and Mass. State Police. Further updates regarding this incident will be provided when available.

UPDATE: Arthur Myatt, age 50, of Plymouth, MA died at Rhode Island Hospital during the night of Tuesday, August 7th as a result of injuries sustained when he was struck by a motor vehicle on Rte. 6&28 in Wareham, MA on Monday, July 28, 2014.

Investigation of the incident is ongoing by the Wareham Police Department and Mass. State Police.
