Wareham Police Respond to a Reported Drowning Incident

On Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at approximately 11:30 am, Wareham Police Department personnel responded to Swifts Beach for a reported drowning incident. Upon arrival at the scene, officers were alerted to people on the beach attempting to perform CPR on an adult female, who had been observed swimming just prior to the incident. Officers continued CPR until the arrival of Wareham EMS personnel, who transported the female to Tobey Hospital.

The medical status of the female is considered to be critical at this time. The identity of the adult female is being withheld, pending notification of family members regarding the incident.
