depinaOn Monday, May 12, 2014 at approximately 11:50 pm, patrol officers of the Wareham Police Department responded to the area of #50 Mayflower Lane, East Wareham regarding a reported disturbance and the sound of gunshots. While enroute, officers were advised a white Lincoln Continental left the scene and traveled out of the neighborhood. The vehicle was observed and stopped on Glen Charlie Road.

Wareham EMS responded to the scene and transported Mr. Velasquez to Tobey Hospital in Wareham with apparent non-life-threatening wounds.

A subsequent investigation of the incident conducted by the Wareham Police Department Detective Division led to a warrant issued by Wareham District Court for 25 year old Wareham resident Jonathan Depina, who detectives believe shot Mr. Velasquez during an argument outside #50 Mayflower on Monday night. In addition to the arrest warrant for Mr. Depina, a search warrant was obtained for Mr. Depina’s residence at #50 Mayflower Lane regarding possible evidence pertaining to the incident, including the shotgun used.
