Second Person Arrested in the Mayflower Lane B&E.

clancyDuring the afternoon hours of Thursday, February 6, 2014, members of the Wareham Police Department Detective Division arrested a second suspect involved in the B&E incident reported at 87 Mayflower Lane. Investigation of the incident led to an arrest warrant issued for 34 year old East Wareham resident Thomas Clancy, who was arrested at his home regarding charges of B&E Daytime (felony) and Malicious Destruction of Property. Investigation of the incident showed Mr. Clancy was the second male that entered the residence at 87 Mayflower Lane with 25 year old Joseph Tavares of East Wareham, who was arrested on February 4, 2014.

Further investigation by detectives led to additional criminal charges against Thomas Clancy regarding an incident involving the theft of a vehicle and a residential break and entering incident reported at 21 King Drive in West Wareham shortly after midnight on Saturday, February 1, 2014. The stolen vehicle was recovered in East Wareham on February 3rd.

During the arrest of Mr. Clancy, detectives executed a search warrant at his residence, which led to the recovery of property and other evidence pertaining to the King Drive incident. As a result of the investigation and obtained evidence, Thomas Clancy was charged with B&E Nighttime and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle pertaining to the King Drive incident.

Thomas Clancy was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Wareham District Court on the charges pertaining to the incidents at 21 King Drive and 87 Mayflower Lane.
