On the afternoon of Thursday, December 12, 2013, a joint investigation involving detectives of the Wareham Police Department, Middleboro Police Department, and the United States Postal Service resulted in a search warrant for illegal drugs being executed at #96 Plymouth Ave. in the East Wareham section of town. Specifically, the search warrant was issued regarding a large amount of marijuana intended for postal delivery at the address.
Upon entry into the residence, detectives seized the delivered package, which contained approximately 8-10 pounds of marijuana wrapped in 25 individual plastic baggies, with a street value of approximately $18,000 to $20,000. The origin of the sent marijuana is under investigation.
Arrested at the residence was 23 year old Zachary Driscoll, who took possession of the marijuana upon delivery. Mr. Driscoll was arraigned at Wareham 4th District Court on the charge of Possession of a Class D Substance (Marijuana) with Intent to Distribute.
Interim Police Chief Kevin Walsh praised the cooperative and combined efforts of the agencies involved in this investigation, which removed a large of amount of marijuana intended for sale in the streets of Wareham.
