Cape Cod Man Arrested on Drug Trafficking Charges

koopman          On Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at approximately 9:15 pm, officers and detectives of the Wareham Police Department and Barnstable Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on the eastbound bypass of Cranberry Highway as a result of an investigation into the distribution of heroin in the Cape Cod area.

During the motor vehicle stop, Carl F. Koopman, age 33, of Cummaquid, MA was found to be in possession of approximately 55 grams of heroin, which was contained inside individual packaging for distribution purposes. The seized heroin has an approximate street value of $4,500.

Carl Koopman was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Wareham Police Department, where bail was imposed in the amount of $10,000. Mr. Koopman was arraigned on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Wareham Fourth District Court on the charge of Trafficking a Class A Substance (Heroin).
