Police Investigate Pedestrain Accident on Cranberry Hwy



                        On Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at approximately 8:30 pm, officers of the Wareham Police Department, along with Onset Fire Department and Wareham EMS personnel responded the area of the Liquor Locker on the Cranberry Highway (Rte. 6&28) regarding a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers noticed the body of a deceased female, whose identity is being withheld at this time, pending notification of family members. The involved vehicle, a 2002 Jeep Cherokee driven by 22 year old Eric Crowley of Wareham, was traveling eastbound on Rte. 6&28 in the travel lane, when the female was struck during an apparent attempt to cross the roadway. The driver of the vehicle was not injured during the incident.

Investigation of the incident is currently being conducted by the Wareham Police Department and Mass. State Police.  Further updates regarding this incident will be released when information becomes available.
