Wareham Man Arrested in Double Stabbing

On Sunday, July 29, 2012 at approximately 3:32am, officers of this department responded to the area of Priscilla Avenue on a report that two people had been stabbed. Officers arrived at the scene and found two males with apparent stab wounds lying on the dirt roadway at the intersection of Hardy Street at Priscilla Ave., Wareham, MA.  Both victims, who have been positively identified as Brendon J. Mahoney (DOB: 01/31/94) and Brian P. Mahoney (DOB: 10/19/92) of Bridgewater, were transported to a local hospital and later transferred to a Rhode Island hospital for further treatment. The victims are brothers and are listed in critical condition.

The case is under investigation by the Wareham Police and the State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz’s office.  As a result of investigation, 18 year old Bryan Grassie of 16 Bartlett Lane, East Wareham was charged in connection with the stabbings.  At approximately 8:55 a.m. Chief Richard Stanley, and other Wareham officers, along with State Police Detectives assigned to District Attorney Tim Cruz’s office, arrested Mr. Grassie without incident at the home of a relative in Plymouth.  Grassie was transported to the Wareham Police station and is being charged with 2 counts of Assault with Intent to Murder and 2 counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

Bryan Grassie will be arraigned tomorrow in the Wareham District Court.  No further information is being released at this time and no further comment will be made.
