Two Arrested On Drug Charges

On Monday, June 11, 2012, at approximately 3:45 pm, members of the Wareham Police Department Detective Division, assisted by members of the Patrol Division, executed a search warrant pertaining to the possession of illegal drugs at #12 Depot St. in the East Wareham section of town. The residence, which was occupied by two people, was entered without incident.

During a search of the residence and garage, detectives discovered a baggie containing cocaine, along with associated drug paraphernalia, including a scale and corner cut baggies, often used in the sale of illegal drugs. Two Percocet pills were also discovered on the person of the male resident, 26 year old Jeffrey Carbone.

Arrested at the scene was Jeffrey Carbone and his girlfriend, 31 year old Maia Tavares, both of whom were charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance (cocaine), Possession of a Class B Substance (cocaine), and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Act. Mr. Carbone was also charged with Possession of a Class B Substance (Percocet). Jeffrey Carbone and Maia Tavares will be arraigned at the Wareham Fourth District Court on Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
