Two parties stabbed in Onset as a result of a fight

On Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at approximately 12:33 pm, officers and detectives of the Wareham Police Department, along with Wareham EMS and Onset Fire Department personnel responded to a reported stabbing incident that occurred in the area of #298 Onset Ave. in the Onset section of Wareham. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered two males that had sustained apparent stab wounds. The males were noticed to be approximately 100 feet from each other, and both required immediate medical attention.

While investigation of the incident is in early stages, the incident appears to be a result of an altercation between the two involved males, which took place on the side of Onset Avenue across from the area of a residence located #298 Onset Avenue. One of the males stabbed, identified at this time as a 37-year-old Onset resident who will not be named at this time. This male sustained stab wounds in at least three areas of his body. The male was transported to Tobey Hospital by Wareham EMS and then by Med-Flight to a Boston hospital for further medical attention. The second male, age 28, was transported by ambulance to Tobey Hospital in Wareham to be treated for knife wounds sustained in the incident. The second male will also not be identified at this time, due to the early stages of the investigation.

There has not been an arrest made with regard to this incident at this time. This press release will be updated as information is received as a result of the ongoing investigation.
